Reel in the Fun at Port Alberni’s Signature Labour Day Tradition

Hosted on the traditional territories of the Tseshaht and Hupacasath First Nations, Salmon Fest 2025 brings anglers, food-lovers, and music-fans together for four lively days on the waterfront. Cast a line in the renowned Salmon Derby, sample chowder, or unwind to sunset concerts at Harbour Quay.

• Salmon Derby • $15,000 Top Prize
  Dawn–3 p.m. fishing hours; weigh-ins at Centennial Pier.
• Coastal Chowder Competition • Sun., Aug 31 @ 2 p.m.
  Judges’ & People’s Choice tasting in the Dining Zone.
• Port Alberni’s Got Talent • Sat., Aug 30 @ 12 p.m.
  Bands, dancers, acro and more take centre stage.
• Dunk-Tank Fundraiser • all weekend
  Have a throw—proceeds split between local charities and festival upgrades.
• Kiwanis Salmon Dinner • Sun. evening
  Wild salmon grilled over open fireboxes (while supplies last).
