The Haunting returns to McLean Mill on October 24, 2026, from 3–9 PM for Halloween scares in support of ADAPS.
Halloween events in the Alberni Valley bring pumpkin patch adventures, spooky train rides and community celebrations to October. Whether you’re planning an outing with young children or looking for Halloween fun for teens, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the season together.
Pumpkin Patches and Halloween Train Rides
Pumpkin Patch Tours at Arrowvale
October weekends, October 3–25, 2026 | 10:30 AM–3:30 PM
Pull on your boots and head to Arrowvale Campground & Farm for a fall outing in the countryside. Browse the pumpkin patch, visit the farm animals and take a tractor-pulled wagon ride through the fields to see cows and horses. Pumpkins are available to purchase for carving or baking.
The pumpkin patch opens rain or shine, so bring a coat and dress for muddy conditions. Wagon rides last approximately 20 minutes, with the final departure at 3 PM. Heavy rain may cancel wagon rides.
Admission: $2.50; children under 18 months enter free. Wagon rides cost an additional $2.50.

Alberni Pacific Railway: The Bloodmoon Limited
Daytime rides for all ages | Nighttime Fright Edition for ages nine and up
All aboard for a Halloween adventure on the Alberni Pacific Railway! The Bloodmoon Limited daytime train offers a 40-minute ride aboard a historic diesel locomotive, with spooky decorations and seasonal fun for all ages.
For passengers who enjoy a bigger scare, the nighttime Bloodmoon Limited – Fright Edition brings gothic atmosphere and lurking vampires to a haunted 40-minute journey.

Family and Community Events
PAACL Fun Fair
Wednesday, October 21, 2026 | 4–6 PM
Celebrate Community Inclusion Month with the Port Alberni Association for Community Living at Glenwood Centre. This free event welcomes everyone for an afternoon of family-friendly activities, games and a chance to meet some goats!
Cin City Donuts will be serving treats at the fair. Join in the games for a free $5 donut voucher while enjoying an afternoon of community connection.

The Haunting at McLean Mill
Saturday, October 24, 2026 | 3–9 PM
A haunted carnival is coming to McLean Mill Historic Park! Presented by ADAPS, The Haunting brings carnival-themed chills to the historic site for an afternoon and evening of Halloween scares.
If your family enjoys spooky outings, add this community fundraiser to your October plans. Check with the organizer about suitability for younger children.
Admission: By donation, with suggested amounts of $10 per person or $20 per family

Free Halloween Swim
Wednesday, October 28, 2026 | 6:30–7:30 PM
Make a splash at the City of Port Alberni’s Free Halloween Swim. Head to Echo Aquatic Centre for an evening of swimming, Halloween decorations, spooky music and treats.

Halloween Fun for Teens
Youth Fright Night
Friday, October 30, 2026 | 6–8 PM
The Alberni Valley Child & Youth Network invites youth ages 12 to 18 to a Haunted Teen Night at Glenwood Sports Centre. Dress up and join the fun, with costume prizes, food, haunted music and spooky activities.
