Alberni Valley Holiday Events
Now that we’ve said goodbye to our warmer-than-usual fall weather, we are (rather briskly) reminded that our Holiday Season is quickly approaching and, although most children will be disappointed, thankfully snow is not in the immediate forecast. This season promises to bring many fun filled Alberni Valley holiday events, from winter markets to festive concerts, there is plenty to do, see and shop!
Markets, Music & More Markets!
Tis the season for Winter Market and Craft Fairs in the Alberni Valley. These are a fantastic way to spend a few hours checking out the Valley’s local artists, bakers and creators showcase their talents. With so many options we thought it best to give you a list of what, where and when:
- Christmas in the Valley | Alberni Athletic Hall | Nov 11 – 13
- Mistletoe Market | Harbour Quay | Nov 15 – Dec 17
- Merry Makers Craft Fair | The Royal Canadian Legion | Nov 18 – 20
- Christmas in the Country Craft Fair | Cherry Creek Community Hall | Nov 19
- It’s a Fair Holiday Market | Kinsmen Club | Dec 2
A Holiday Special from the Timbre! Choir
The Alberni Valley’s Timbre! Choir invites you to join them for DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR. This concert marks their return to singing and is the first concert of our 50th Anniversary. Full details can be found on our Events Page or the Timbre! website.
Check out the Dawg Pound
A part of the Alberni Valley Multiplex, the Weyerhaeuser Arena is the centre for all things ice related. It boasts twin ice sheets for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating. With their season already underway the BCHL’s Alberni Valley Bulldogs are a fun way to spend an evening taking in some hockey action. Known all around the province for having the best fans in the BCHL, a Bulldogs experience is sure to not disappoint. Checkout their season schedule, buy tickets and more on the Bulldogs website.
And if it Does Snow…
With plenty of hills (hence the “Valley” in Alberni Valley), if we do get snow be sure to grab your sled or toboggan and get out there. A local snow-day favourite is Williamson Park. Children and adults alike all turn out to get in on some downhill fun. With the added bonus of a Tim Hortons located just across the street, you can pickup your hot chocolate or “double double” and warm right up.
