Activities for the whole family — Get in the spirit visiting local shops to find the perfect gift, have your photo taken with Santa, enjoy a Winter Wonderland free skate, and cheer on our Bulldogs. Tis the season for Winter Market and Craft Fairs in the Alberni Valley. These are a fantastic way to spend a few hours checking out the Valley’s local artists, bakers and creators showcase their talents. With so many options we thought it best to give you a list of what, where and when:

Get in the Spirit with Holiday Music From Our Favourite Choirs
The Alberni Valley is alive with music this holiday season, offering concerts and singalongs that will fill your heart with joy and your ears with festive tunes. Whether you’re a listener or a singer, there’s something for everyone!
“This Christmas” with Barkley Sounds Community Choir

Timbre! Choir – Bethlehem Brass with Special Guests Festive Brass

West Coast Winter Wonderland
Embrace the holiday spirit with free ice skating at the Alberni Valley Multiplex, thanks to the generosity of local sponsors! Starting November 28th and running until December 26th, the rink transforms into a stunning Winter Wonderland, offering a festive skating experience for all ages.

Pictures with Santa at the Capitol Theatre
Bring a festive smile and your camera to capture a cherished holiday memory with Santa at the Capitol Theatre. We’ll kick things off with a cozy reading of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” and sing Santa onstage with a cheerful Christmas carol. Don’t forget to bring your furry friends along—Santa loves pets too!

A part of the Alberni Valley Multiplex, the Weyerhaeuser Arena is the centre for all things ice related. It boasts twin ice sheets for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating. With their season already underway the BCHL’s Alberni Valley Bulldogs are a fun way to spend an evening taking in some hockey action. Known all around the province for having the best fans in the BCHL, a Bulldogs experience is sure to not disappoint.

With plenty of hills (hence the “Valley” in Alberni Valley), if we do get snow be sure to grab your sled or toboggan and get out there. A local snow-day favourite is Williamson Park. Children and adults alike all turn out to get in on some downhill fun. With the added bonus of a Tim Hortons located just across the street, you can pickup your hot chocolate or “double double” and warm right up.
